If someone in the family is going to be the designated DJ that is OK, but if you want different music in multiple rooms controlled by the occupants of the rooms, you're in multiple $299 controller land. Fortunately there's still the SB3 for that configuration. To the degree that you guys are competing with Sonos, this looks like a great product.
