Once you're over your anger (try kicking the cat) perhaps you'd like to give us some diagnostics? Platform (O/S, server spec, etc)? Server version? Your infrastructure (wired/wireless)? Any useful log msgs? FWIW, I have a Transporter and run the latest trunk version of SC, updating regularly (usually daily), and I've never seen a total stop like that.
