Are these .m3u playlists you have created yourself, or are these ITunes or similar created playlists?
Quick check, if you open up the playlist file (assuming is is a self-created .m3u or .pls file) in a text editor like Notepad or Editpad, is the file path to your music the same as the path that Slimserver follows to your music library? If the playlist says "..song.mp3" or "d:/Music/song.mp3" but your Music Library folder entry in Slimserver is "//server/Music/song.mp3", it won't pick up the songs in the playlists. Easy to fix if so, just find/replace the relevant text so that it follows the Slimserver naming convention.
