I think this person is trying to please his whole family without it becoming a tech support nightmare for himself. He says they have enough trouble keeping their PCs running, so the idea of no local server is compelling. Also, his kids want to hear the latest music and Rhapsody offers that. Needing multi-room sync complicates things, because that is easier to do with a local server, which he does not want to run.
