I have just made a few current measurements on my kitchen SB3 connected to a pair of AudioEngine 2 loudspeakers.
All currents are measured on a 20A scale and at 240V (nominal). There is a +/- 0.02A error. Squeezebox 3 in standby with display off (or zero brightness) 0.02A Squeezebox 3 in standby with display full brightness 0.03A Squeezebox 3 & AE2 in standby display on 0.07A Squeezebox 3 & AE2 in standby display off 0.06A There was no discernible difference in current by switching the AE2 volume from off to 100% with the Squeezebox 3 in standby so can conclude that the AE2s are siwthcing off with zero input.
