Exactly, I can't name a single media player off the top of my head that
doesn't replace the playlist when you press a play button on a a
track/album.

I suppose XMMS (modeled after winamp) adds to the playlist, but it's
clearly labeled "ADD" not "PLAY", And that's to the END of the
playlist, not after next track, and won't start playing.
