I was specifically thinking (because you said "direct connection") that you might have an ethernet connection between the SB and the computer, rather than both SB and computer being connected to a router.
If that had been what you are doing, then it can be a bit tricky to set up DHCP, though it can be done. If you are having trouble when both SB and computer are wired into the router, I am not sure what the issue could be, as DHCP should be ok. Myself, I use a Mac, but am still on Tiger (though I have an experimental Leopard setup) and SlimServer 6.5.4, so I can only suggest general things, rather than detailed ones. I would have guessed firewall problems, but you reckon not. Does SoftSqueeze work ok? Also, if you have another computer or even certain mp3 players, search the forum for "stream" or "stream.mp3" to get instructions for sending stuff from SqueezeCenter to another player, and see if that works. Does the Squeezebox show up as a player when you use the SqueezeCenter web interface? These are rather shots in the dark. But we know that SqueezeCenter can work on Leopard, so something must be wrong with your installation or with the Squeezebox. The more we can see if some things work but others don't, the more chance of solving the problem we have. -- danco ------------------------------------------------------------------------ danco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=210 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43587 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
