Winamp does amazing visualizations. Isn't there a plugin that streams Slim to Winamp? This is kludge, but on the machine with Winamp couldn't you could enjoy the visualizations on that, or even hook that machine up to your TV?
I've hooked up a machine with Winamp running to a projector that casts the visualizations across a small dance floor in my basement.
