I have to disagree, album artwork downloaded by itunes into the itunes directory does not show up in Squeezecenter (they are stored as ITC files in the Album Artwork folder). Artwork downloaded separately and put into the folders, embedded into the file, or added by a 3rd party application into itunes will show up.
