This I can certainly sympathize with. The fact is that there has been a ton of changes under the hood which have been long needed (witness the much improved syncing) and this kind of work rarely goes by without teething problems. I understand a number of people have had issues with the scanner since 7.0 (touch wood I have not!) but I agree that it's annoying when things don't work right.
