The good news is that I received my duet last week and installed it over the weekend. This is in now working fine.
The bad news is that only one set of UK adapters were shipped with the package, so I could recharge the controller or power the receiver. After a bit of hunting I found another adapter from my blackberry charger, so all was well. Calling the Logitech help line was unconvincing that this will be resolved so I liberated another addapter from work. They wanted me to send the package back so I could have a new one.
