AAC/M4a file will stutter on PC's running Vista with SATA disks using a NVIDIA adaptor/chips.
There are a number of threads on the subject (usually under the header Stutter / m4a and not this thread title !) - the problem is associated with Quicktime. Try the faad2 solution described in post 13 of this thread. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41673 If your PC matches the above criteria, essentially install faad2 and edit convert.conf (use Wordpad) to match the lines in the post.
