If you want to keep your Receiver looking nice (ie. avoid things like vinyl tape) and still want the LED colours for information, but would just like it dimmer, try this:
Open up the Receiver and remove the plastic "light-pipe" that transmits from the LED to the button. (It just slides backwards once you've released the little "pips" that locate it).
