Museum putty (or blu-tac) is the cheapest and handiest of all audio accessories. I use it to secure speakers to stands and breakable pottery to shelves, but it has come in handiest for taming these blinding LEDs. Just put a tiny ball of putty over the offending LED. You can totally eliminate all the light, or use a smaller piece to allow a bit of light through.
