Take a file and run replay gain on it so it tags it. Take the same file
and let Itunes run Soundcheck on it. It will use a different tag. See
what your track gain ends up being in Squeezecenter. I wonder how many
people can't figure out why their volume is so low when playing random
playlists and much louder on albums. I put in a bug report a couple of
months ago and it got thrown in with another soundcheck problem that had
nothing to do with this. We need a way to have the squeezecenter
software ignore soundcheck tags if replay gain tags exist. For some
reason on track gain it adds them together. I like to use soundcheck
for my ipods but replay gain for all my other devices. So as it stands
I either remove one or the other or I can't use track gain or smart
gain on the Squeezebox.
