The above post was not the complete ho-to. At this point I'm still have problems getting this to work.
I've got a static IP on my home squeezecenter PC. My router is port forwarding port 9000 to this PC. I'm able to ping my router from my office. When I start softsqueeze it says "Connection failed. Please check server settings." In the SoftSqueeze preferences I've got the hostname set to my home router's IP :9000 What is the SlimProto Port? It's pre-filled in with 3483.
