I am using a Mac with OX 10.3.9 and iTunes. I recently downloaded SqueezeCenter 7.0.1, and have an unresolved problem with it. Before installing 7.0.1, I had no problems accessing all my music tracks in iTunes. After upgrading, at first SqueezeCenter could not find all the music; when I had it do a complete rescan, it would show the correct number of tracks when downloading iTunes, but after going through the full rescan procedure, a few hundred tracks would not show up in SqueezeCenter. I called Customer Support, and they couldn't find the problem; everything they suggested I try made no difference. After sending in a log file, and awaiting an answer, I tried one thing they had not suggested. I changed the path to my music folder in the iTunes preference pane to a bogus path, which forced a rescan by iTunes, then changed it back to the correct path, again forcing a rescan by iTunes. Then when I restarted SqueezeCenter it rescanned my music, and all the tracks showed up. I thought my problems were solved.
Then I discovered that certain tracks wouldn't play. I don't know how widespread the problem is, but I discovered one album where all tracks play except for two. When these tracks come up in the playlist, SqueezeCenter tries for a couple of seconds to play them, then simply skips to the next song in the playlist. I tried clearing my playlist and having a playlist that consisted of only one of the problem tracks. SqueezeCenter tries, over and over, to play that song, but it never plays. Those songs play fine on my computer in iTunes. I never had this kind of problem with the older SlimServer software.
