The discount did not work with the original SB3, which Logitech is probably still trying to get a return on investment on what they paid for Slimdevices. The markup on the Squeezebox duet is certainly higher, the price is also quite a bit higher, than the SB3 as the R&D dept in Logitech is more streamlined. (You can tell by some strange cuts that the original Slimdevices team never would have done on the duet.. No Headphone jack, etc..) > Now imagine that you're a SqueezeBox reseller.. Most people on the forums are not resellers. When I checked the prices with the 40% discount they were not that much better than the online-discounter prices. If someone has a shop and is selling them for the full retail price, then I could imagine them being annoyed, but most people buy online as they know what they want and a store clerk will probably have no idea how to set it up or even what a Squeezebox actually is. The code could only apply for people who activly read the forums. > Now imagine that you're a SqueezeBox reseller.. (sorry to quote again) In many ways I am :) .. not technicaly a reseller but the discount could be a 'thank you' for the early adopters who have helped make the device a success. I have shown the device to lots of people who have ended up buying a Squeezebox (Or even, back then, a Slimp3) -- Sike ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sike's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2458 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49703 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
