Dear all, At the STFC Centre for Environmental Data Archival (CEDA - http://www.ceda.ac.uk) in the UK we are looking to hire three new people in the post of "Data Scientist / Scientific Programmer".
The successful candidates will join a team providing environmental data and associated services to the UK academic research community. Initially the work will involve supervised working with colleagues on tightly scoped programming tasks, but will lead on to involvement in larger, more complex projects, including collaboration with other scientists and data managers; capturing requirements and developing solutions with end-users. There is also scope within CEDA to develop new projects and services. Appointees will gain experience in a range of areas such as big-data management/processing, database tools, web-application, visualisation and data security. Interaction and collaboration with the UK and international science community is anticipated in some activities.
