Hi everyone, I would like to thank you all for the thoughtful discussion on the use of the term "sanity check". The carpentries are committed to creating friendly learning environments for all learners. We encourage our instructors to consider alternative phrases such as those that have been proposed.
I have not created a Github Issue specifically for further discussion, but as Titus mentions people are welcome to propose changes if the phrase appears in any lessons or official text. This seems like an appropriate time to mention that our ombudsperson email is [email protected] if anyone has concerns about this or any other issue within the carpentry organizations that they would like to raise. I don't think "sanity check" is used in any lessons or official text; if it is, I'd propose moving the discussion to the github issues there. thanks! --titus On Fri, Oct 07, 2016 at 10:13:08AM -0400, Tyson Whitehead wrote: > I'm happy with "reality check".
