All,

There are some great ideas, tools, approaches and links in here. Would somenone
be interested in summarizing this thread as a blog post?

Two questions/thoughts/comments:

* it might be neat to provide a way to link videos (mine or better ones!) to
the static lessons. Hardly a substitute to live teaching but maybe a nice
adjunct?

The people who've helped bring pyvideo.org back created a static site generator
for python videos. If you get enough videos together to present a good page,
maybe you could reuse their approach. The metadata for videos allows for
showing related links on the video page.

* is there a place (e.g. channel?) to post these videos (and others!) more
generally? I’m happy to keep doing things myself but sharing broadly is what we
do so… where should we put ‘em? Should we just have a youtube hashtag? etc.

I suggest a dedicated youtube account, maybe with channels or playlists.

I also will point out that if you have at least 30 videos or so and will
continue to collect more, you can also ask for a special collection on
archive.org. This will depend on how much time you want to spend downloading
the yt stuff to upload to archive.org. (there are scripts to help). I
personally like when people don't rely on a business (youtube) for archiving
their media but am not dogmatic.

e.g. https://archive.org/details/pyvideo
(I need to clean up some of the videos in there. when they created the
collection for us they moved some personal videos in to the collection)

relurking :)
