Hi all, we just ran a ~35 person workshop at UCSC on shotgun metagenome analysis (bioinformatics), using XSEDE Jetstream --
please see comments at http://ivory.idyll.org/blog/2017-metagenomics-at-ucsc.html and https://2017-ucsc-metagenomics.readthedocs.io/en/latest/jetstream/boot.html for the boot process. We had a community account that the Jetstream folk approved of, used Projects in Jetstream to separate the instances, and also allowed people to use their own XSEDE accounts if they had one. Very smooth, mostly worked w/o any hitches :). Materials on GitHub as usual: https://github.com/ngs-docs/2017-ucsc-metagenomics. The jet stream folk seem happy to give out small community allocations; if you’re interested in trying it out, drop me your XSEDE username and I’ll send it on to them. best, —titus _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.software-carpentry.org/listinfo/discuss
