Hello Colleagues, The Software Carpentry and Data Carpentry Steering Committees have jointly approved to go forward with a merger of the organizations. This merger will officially recognize our shared vision and improve our ability to support the community, member organizations, and curriculum going forward.
This agreement is just the first step, and there is a lot to do before the merge takes place. We are putting together a Requests for Comment <https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Requests_for_comment> for decisions and structure around everything from governance to curriculum oversight. We will be in touch with updates as they arise. Software and Data Carpentry have always been by and for the community, and it's the community who will be key in guiding these next steps.
