Hi Mario, For those already familiar with the command line, I think the method you describe could work well. However, many of the people who come to the SQL stand-alone workshops I teach based on our ecology lesson have never used the command line, and I think the overhead here would just be too much for them to learn both things simultaneously. If you are used to a GUI for everything, the Firefox extension has a much lower barrier to entry.
Even some who are familiar with the command line I think benefit from initial instruction in the GUI before shifting over. And nearly everything requires new software installations, and installing Firefox is one of the easier things we ask people to install. ~ Amy Amy E.
