Yes, we are thinking of this now, as it will make it much easier for us to find 
space on campus for workshops and decrease the cost as we will not need to 
provide much (if any) food.

One question I have is whether this still qualifies as an official workshop if 
you split it up??

Have you ever considered running a workshop over a number of weeks rather than 
compressing it all into two days? There is an interesting post just out about 
running a @datacarpentry #ecology workshop over seven weeks instead of two days 
at the University of Florida.
