I'm not using the 7000; I prefer to BYO solaris.  I am using NIS and AD for
this purpose, and have been since ... I guess about 10 months ago.  I love
it all except for some reason, I can't get Administrator/Root to be a valid
CIFS user client.  (All the normal users are fine; it's just administrator
that's not accepted as a cifs client.)

Um ... I could be wrong actually.  You did say "acl's."  I'm not using
acl's.  I'm just using UID/GID and posix bits.  I haven't actually attempted
acl's.
