Thanks, Nick -- nice to hear from you. And thank to Rob for the other pointers as well. If I were at a smaller company, I might consider growing my own, but when we say enterprise, we mean it. I'm in architecture, not operations, and the ops guys must be able to support whatever it is. It's got to have global tech support and break/fix, too. However, in our case performance isn't really as important as some other features. Most of what's on the NAS environment is document retention and home shares. It's possible that for the right performance mark, some of the HPC stuff might qualify, but that's a small percentage at the moment. I'll definitely look into Exanet -- it sounds nifty! :) I've never felt that Sun was a storage company, but who knows? Maybe they've made strides, though I'm concerned what direction they'll be going in under Oracle, and we definitely need cross-platform access support, so they may not be viable right now. -Adam _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
