Hi Larry,
Congratulations on your purchase. Some of the Windows philosophies of
specs can be tossed out the window when it comes to the Mac, but memory is
always a good thing to add on. I know adding memory to my iBook made a big
difference.

I would assume you can add your news group to your mail accounts, but I
have not had any experience with this. I can only say that you can
configure mail accounts easily and I currently have five different ones
being accessed.

Take Care

Subject: Ordered and waiting

Hi list,

So, I went ahead and ordered my Mac today. I ended up getting an iMac G5.
I went ahead and upgraded to 1GB of ram based on my previous experiences
that you should order double what you think you need. I know, its a Windows
thing but who know what will happen. I also got the wireless keyboard for
fun.

I should get it in a week or so and I'm very curious to see how things go.
I spent the better part of the afternoon reading reviews and all kinds of
information. During that time, I managed to experience two crashes of my
software on Windows and this resulted in the browser and or Jaws having to
be re-started. A problem I'm not anticipating with a Mac.

One thing I forgot to ask folks, does the mail program support newsgroups?
I use them for my classes online. Normally I could just click a link on the
web page for my class and be subscribed automatically in Outlook Express but
if I understand, Outlook Express doesn't work with VO. However, I assume I
can just enter the address in the mail program on the Mac and be
subscribed???

Also, I could have but did not order an application called Move to Mac.
Does this make the jump from the PC any easier or should I just import
things as needed?

Thanks.
