Hello All,

For those wanting to get the best out of vo with terminal, I've been doing a bit of experementing and I have found that with settings I'll describe that I can read from the bottom up without the vo cursor jumping to the top. It seems though that if you press left arrow with VO keys, it will jump to the top. So, stay away from left arrow and you can move up and down. Some times, I find I have to press enter to read the last line on the screen.

My settings are:

In terminal prefs, set execute the default login shell...
terminal type is vt102.
unchecked open a saved .term file.

in window settings, set cursor to vertical and blink. Under window, still in window settings, check all the checkboxes or not if you like. anything I left out, I -- didn't tamper with. The gui rapper for this is quite powerful and Things appear to be at least a bit better for me with the setup described above.

Fun with pine:

I used darwin ports to grab pine and When I set show cursor to on, I was actually able to use arrows without vo keys and have vo track and speak. This is exciting for terminal because it provides a glimmer of what is possible. I was able to go through the configuration list and the main menu with total accuracy. The only drawback is that if there is a bit of explanatory text, it is not read so you have to use the VO cursor to find it So, it's advisable to become familiar with what's there before trying it this way if you're not familiar with it all ready. Now, to do some real mail with pine and to play with configuring lynx.
