Interesting. When I closed it, I didn't have any trouble. I think I
was still in the messages table, or at least, one to the left of it,
one tab I mean. I have filters set up, so I could have been put back
in the mailboxes outline, but no matter, it worked. :)
You'll get it figured out.

What does seem to work, though I don't have it down to enough of a
science to explain it, is using vokeys-accent and/or vokeys-tilde
to resize the window. You do one of these combinations and then if
I understand correctly you use vokeys-arrow to change width and
height and you do get some feedback when doing it. I finally did
get the pane closed this way but I did have to tab to find the
messages table again. I know this isn't sounding too coherent but
I'll have to experiment with it more to figure out how it worked.
