I agree with what was stated below. I asure you this is more of a mac thing then just a vo thing because I deal with this nice feature on ouspoken 1.7.5 on os 7 on one of my macs here.

Hi,
I can answer the behavior of the cursor.
The cursor movement is different with VO.
Think of it this way.
What is it that you are doing while either editing or navigating to a point to edit. If you are moving to the right, then your cursor will always be to the right of the current letter. If you are moving to the left, then the cursor will always be to the left of the current letter.
Let me give you a few examples.
If you are on a line of text and you hit Control Left arrow to get to the beginning of that line of text, because you moved left, the cursor is now just before the first letter on that line. If you now hit right arrow you will hear the first letter announced, not the second letter as you would in MS Word or Notepad or something else. In fact, once you get use to this concept, it really is easier to edit and you don't need to do as much positioning of your cursor as you do on other platforms. So think of it this way. If your last movement was to the left, cursor will lead to the left. If your last movement was to the right, the cursor will lead to the right.
At least this is my take on it.

Folks, just curious. I've noticed and I'm sure this is just one of those things that takes getting used to, but I'll make a point and any comments welcome. First I noticed that you have to really be careful and know exactly where you are when editing text or your liable to delete letters etc. you never intended. I find that I need to use VO-keys plus c to be sure I'm on the correct character. I guess when moving the arrow keys its a little tricky to know if your on the letter a in the word t h a t or on the h. I've always assumed that as I move the arrow key in either direction, I'll be on that character such as the letter a in that when I stop, but that isn't always true. I might in fact be on the T or the H depending upon the direction I'm moving. Now I'm not critizing VO, but if there's some option Ishould muck about with that might help with this or if this is just something I need to get used to and is more a Mac thing than a VO specific thing, that's cool. Also I am not sure, but it seems that the page up/ down keys really don't seem to do any thing. Is this more an application specific thing or something else. Appreciate any feedback. I guess as long as I've been working with the Mac, I just haven't really figured some of this out yet and thought I'd ask. Well the page up/down business is new as I didn't try using those keys on the notebook I was using previously.
tnx

Scott
