extra firewire port is for dasy chaining purposes.
I am having an issue with the drive I bought. it is an external fw
enclosure that I installed a dvd drive in, and the disk loads and I
could access its contents but it is a dvd movie and dvd player keeps
giving me an error. what to do?

Also, I notice there's a spare firewire port on the external drive.
What do people usually end up using that for?
