Hi Jessica,

Welcome to the list. BTW, one thing to try at the outset when you're first learning the Mac OS and VoiceOVer is to use the VoiceOver cursor to constatnly read toward the right, that is, Control-Option-right arrow. This will ensure that voiceOver encounters all items on a page. When you become more familiar with the elements on a particular dialog box, window or page, you can sometimes use the down command instead, to jump to other areas that are being displayed. Further, you can use Control-Option-i to bring up the item chooser menu and arrow down a list of all the items that VoiceOver sees to quickly navigate.

HTH,
Jerry

Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome.
I hope this is how to reply to messages. There was some confusion as to weather or not replying went to the sender or to the list as a whole.

As far as my problem with firmware. It was certainly a fault in the product. They took it back today and I got a new g5 instead. That one was the mini mac, but i didn't want to wait for them to come back in stock.
It's nice to pretend I'm rich sometimes. lol
Well, my first day was really confusing, and I'm back on windows because Ii'm tired. I think my only struggle really, is going to be learning to search all over the page for things. I filled in a registration form and missed everything in the right colum. ACK! I've got the voice over manual and I am hoping there are shorter ways to do things. I will try not to keep resorting back to windows as I know it is just going to drag things out if I do, but I'm sooo very slow right now.
Brings back fond memories of my first day with a windows pc.
Thanking god it's not win98,
Jessica

Well Jesica.
Welcome to mac, and hang in there, it gets easier. Keep using it, and you'll be a convert in no time.

Greetings, I am a long time windows user. Due to the newest version of tiger, I thought I'd give mac a go.

I'm lost and already having issues with firmware i think. So for now I'll just say a quick hello until things become a bit more clear.

I must admit I'm really excited though. I always wanted to have another option besides windows.

Cheers,
Jessica
