I don't think it'll make them more prone to viruses as this is an os
specfic issue. As long as Apple continue to make and keep the os
patched against security holes and the like, I think they'll be fine.
Ay any os including Tiger, Linux, etc. is open to attack. Microsoft
is just a hacker's bunchingbag and well it lends itself to these
things. Not picking on them per say, but its a reality. Besides any
machine connected to a network is now open to attack and that's
another reality. Btw, you have to look at how the os uses the
hardware and how the hardware functions to determine if one processor
is better than another. The IBM processor in the Mac is very
impressive and performs aas well if not better than the current
Intels found in most pcs. This is partly do to limitations in the
Microsoft os and well this is also partly why Intel is getting into
the Mac world, they can do things they can't do on the pc platform;
this is what I've heard. I've read a lot on the G5 processor and its
again, quite impressive.

I have heard recently that mac is changing to the intel
processors. According to my brother, that is good, and it will
make them faster, but I remember seeing a video on that mac website
that you guys refered me to explaining why their processors are
more efficient than the rest. Also, another guy said that these
processors will leave the macs more volnerable to viruses. So, my
question is, what does this mean, the conversion to intel
processors. Will they make macs faster, or will they leave apple
more volnerable to viruses? Isn't the determining factor on
impermiability to internet intruders based more on the operating
system rather than the hardware device that it runs on?
