NeoOffice/J was allegedly native MacOS. You happen to know which version they tried? I've been looking for an office suite for my Mac for yonks now. -C- -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Caitlyn McFarland Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2006 1:40 PM To: 'General discussions on all topics relating to the use of Mac OS X by theblind' Subject: RE: mac running windows XP Weird-when I tried it, it worked.. The last time I tried NeoOffice/J, at the very least, VoiceOver refused to acknowledge that the windows had any content. -C- -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Caitlyn McFarland Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2006 12:37 PM To: 'General discussions on all topics relating to the use of Mac OS X by theblind' Subject: RE: mac running windows XP If I were you, I'd come at this from a purely financial standpoint. If they purchase you a windows machine, they are going to have to pay for the computer system, plus jaws or window eyes, plus any sma's you might need. For basically somewhere around $600, you can have a mac mini with voiceover and tiger that costs less. There is open office, which works as well as Word, and there are probably things that work for doing stats as well that I'm not aware of. You're the consumer, don't let them kick you around. They are *serving* you, not being your custodian. I don't think jaws nor win xp will run on a mac. Caitlyn
