what screen reader do you use in freebsd?

I don't use jaws or windows. I use dos and freebsd, linux. I use vocal
eyes and have in past used window eyes which retains most of the
functionality of the dos version. These questions about vo come to mind as I review how I use my screen reader. One central part of vocal eyes and window eyes is that almost all of the functions are in the user's control. All functions can be assigned to any key combination, windows can be set for parts of the screen, automatic reading of windows when a text string appears, review mode which allows complete control in reviewing all parts of the screen in any application and doing a string search, pasting strings from the screen into memory buffers for later use across applications and operating systems. This is a fraction of what is allowed but is a list of what I do daily for the great bulk of computer use in all applications and it is under my specific and complete control at all times in exactly the way I care to use it in the fashion that makes me most productive. If any part of this fails, the complete user defined control and functionality can
be changed into something else.

I'm not asking that another screen reader work in exactly the same way but
that it should allow duplication of that level of control and
functionality. I'm interested in a mac because I used to use one in the
middle 80's when still having sight enough. However, just reading mac
manuals and hering people discuss their experience leads me to think most of what is allowed in the system described has been chosen for the user and little flexability is possible. Someone at apple is making the bulk of the decisions of how blind folk will use the mac. For me a dos box networked to a mac using vocal eyes might still be the best combination, with use of vo
as a second teir screen reader used for specific tasks.
