Ok, I did exactly what you said accept I had to use command n to open
new windows. I opened two sites and after closing the last one, VO
began reading your message, but yet I was still in Safari. This is
certainly a bug as it should not read anything other than the name of
the app I'm in. I knew I wasn't back in mail because navigating gave
me the ding sound and once I hit command q I was back in mail. This
is similar to what I am experencing accept at times I would lets say
open an app, get a dialog box on the screen, do what I need and upon
clicking on ok, but flipped into mail etc. and I'd have to use
command tab to take me back to the app I was originally in.
If you plan to submit as a bug, great, I have a few other items I'll
be sending in soon. I hope Apple can correct some of this.

cause me to try switching back to apps I was still in. Has anyone
else experienced this, and Scott, is this what you're experiencing?
If it is, and others can verify this, let me know, and I'll post a
bug report for apple, if it's just me, then I'll dig more to see if
I can fix it, it could be my version of 10.4.4, since I'm still
using ver 8G31, and not the official release, it's possible it got
fixed before the final release if nobody else is having this
problem. However, it sounds like what Scott is having trouble
with, so thought I'd mention it.

upgrading to 10.4.4 there are some issues, not major show
stoppers, but annoying things. Sometimes when closing a window, I
find myself no longer in lets say Finder, I'll all the sudden be
in Mail and I'll have to command tab back to Finder.
I've also noticed in a few instances where I'll go to create a new
message in Mail, I'll actually be somewhere other than the to
field and previously I was always there.
Just curious if anyone else has experienced any of these issues.
