Before you try that, try deleting the Help cache - that's the most likely problem:

Following are stops to trash the help cache plus a link to the relevant apple help doc:

1. Quit Help Viewer, if it's not already quit.
2. From the Finder's Go menu, choose Home.
3. Open the Library folder.
4. Open the Caches folder.
5. Look for the "com.apple.helpui" folder.
6. Rename that little folder to something else, such as "old Help cache folder".
7. Open Help Viewer. Does the issue return?

Folks, neglected to mention till that message flew out of here that other help files in the library don't seem to be affected. I wonder if the original Mac help file could be corupted perhaps and if so can I either download or even copy it off my wife's Mac Mini. I might see if its possible to copy it over, but I'm curious what could have gotten things all messed up.
