Hi Jane,
First order of business is to get a look at Safari's scripting
dictionary so you can find out what the application will let you do
with AppleScript. In Script Editor:
1. Select "Open Dictionary" from the file menu.
2. Select "Safari" from the big list of scriptable applications.
Select/click the dialog's "Open" button. Scripting dictionary will open.
Following is line to Apple's official developer documentation for
AppleScript. It includes a "Getting Started" section which is worth
working through.
