Hi,
Well, I finally made it to the Apple store yesterday to check out a
number of new Apple things. I was able to play with the new iMac
with the Intel chip inside. This was the 20inch screen if I'm not
mistaken. No matter what your thoughts are about Apple switching
to Intel chips, I've got to tell you that the improvements in speed
and response are something. Further, Voiceover seemed much more
responsive and quick to react when I gave it commands.
I checked out the new iWork06 suite and, from my first impressions
I seem to think it might be accessible. I opened Pages and was
able to move around, looking at the wizard that helps you to set up
your project. It was kind of loud and I could not really get in to
looking at it in detail as a sales agent kept bothering me and it
was just busy. I should work at an Apple store as I know far more
about VO now than any one of the sales people in there. Anyways,
my impression is that it did work but I'd like to play with it
further and am curious if others have and what they thought.
As a side note, I looked at the new iPod Hi-Fi and its crap. It
costs like $350 and doesn't sound that great. If it could have a
DVD player and plugs to hook in other electronics in my livingroom
I might think about it but its not worth the price!
I purchased iLife06 so I could use the web publishing tools in it
and the Podcast Studio as I'm about to launch my new podcast. Look
for that in comming weeks.
