Yeah just call me the hacker. See this is why I want to learn to
code, I think when I was yonger I didn't really think I'd enjoy it,
but now I think if I can master the syntax, I could really get into
developing/porting software. I am joining Book Share so imagine there
will be some good boooks on learning C/C++ and then I can start
figuring out Coco and the like.

That's not a show stopper I guess but not very elegant either.
Won't be an issue when we rely completely on VO to provide
katieplayer accessibility.
As for the speech engines, yes, Apple could do the same in terms of
speed range...I suppose they decided to reign the adjustments in a
bit. I hadn't noticed the difference in speed ranges provided by VO
vs. katieplayer.

parts of VO or the system etc.
3. I turned VO off and set a different voice in KatiePlayer and it
worked just fine.
4. I set Katieplayer's voice differently from VO while it was off
and as soon as I turned VO on, it killed the speech in the sleep
options menu.
5. Turning VO back off had no affect and speech was gone while in
the sleep options menu and so had to quit the program
I did notice you guys get more speed from the voices than VO does
itself. WOuld be nice if Apple would allow for a greater range in
speed.
So that solves teh mystery.
