1. You might want to contact bookshare about the unpack tool; I would  
think it should make a directory. Meanwhile I guess you make the  
directory before downloading the book if you can tell unpack where to  
put it. It's been a while since I had bookshare so I don't totally  
remember how that works.

2. Finder had no trouble with the smil files I have but they may be  
different in some way from the ones you downloaded from bookshare;  
somebody else may have better info on that.
