Louie, You can do as Travis says or do the following:
1. open disk Utility.
2. Navigate to the Outline and then Interact with it.
3. Navigate until you locate the volume name for your external drive.
4. Stop interacting with it.
5. Navigate left until you find the "Mount" button and press it.
