np Scott,

i started out using RI too, but there is so much more you can do with OP, like zoning out only the sections that you want to have read, you can even have OP read your scanned document and it reads it in the order you have it zoned, it uses the Macs built in Voice Over to do this. and you can save it in many formats for other programs to open. if you have any questions once you start using OP feel free to use me, i'll help where i can.

Thanks Pete. I am currently using Read Iris which as far as I can tell is doing a good job, but there are some features in Omni Page I'm interested in. I might consider trying it seeing as how they have a 30-day return policy so at least if it really is a drag, I can return it and no hard feelings.grin

Hey Scott,

I have used OmniPage. so far i have had pretty good luck with it. you do have to work with it some, by that i mean you have to select the zones and the format of the zones, but even that is not to hard to do. i wish some one would write some ocr software that would read my mind and do exactly what i want it to do without any work on my part, but maybe some day!!! i guess the only complaint that i have with it so far is that i am just to lazy.

please feel free to ask any questions, don't know if i will have the answers but i will try.

Pete
