Sounds like an interesting experiment. I'll be interested to see how you get on with it long term.

Installed yeasterday, install went remarkably easy, but of course the usual lack of output at the Windows install stage. One or two interesting points about the keyboard: The Mac bluetooth keyboard and mouse were actually recognised at the first Windows restart, so we were surprised, as the BootCamp doc implies you need a USB kbd and mouse at install prior to loading the Mac drivers burned onto a CD as part of the BootCamp setup. On restart of Windows, though, the bluetooth kbd doesn't always start with out needing to be turned off and on. Despite our best efforts, we can't get the Eject key to work at all, a pity as again BootCamp doc implies it should after running or re-running the Mac drivers CD. I find it a bit strange that, with the Mac keyboard, the Windows Alt and Windows Start keys are transposed, with the Start key nearest the spacebar, but then I had to get used to the Mac keys when first starting. I was very pleased with the import of sound drivers and my sighted son reports good graphics/resolution. Also a pity you have to alter volume control from the System Tray as these keys don't work, but that was expected. Windows XP seems to perform fine, apps installed no problem, with restarts during setups going straight into Win XP as they should. Change from one OS to the other is a bit scary at first, but works perfectly if you keep the Alt (or Options) key pressed fromn the swich-on and while arrowing down to the second OS (depending of course on how you set up the dual-boot process as to which comes up first). ws Explorer did crash out on me a couple of times, but that has happened to me before even with a clean install, and the problem did not crash the machine. Tempted to throw out all our huge Windows boxes and buy little minis just to look cool but don't think the cost is justified :) So in summary: Mac OS now running, but have installed some of what isn't accessible so I can use what I need to on this machine and free up my old (noisy and physically big) Windows workstation when I need to work with someone else in the room at the same time.
