Hi Scott,
A mud client is a specific program used by some people to play on a
mud. Usually, it has features specific to playing, such as triggers, macros
and aliases that one utilizes for example, to abbreviate a multi word
command down to a few letters or just a number. In my case, I use various
sound affects as feedback to tell me what is going on in the game, such as
players logging in or out, messages sent to me, character deaths and the
like.
One can use Telnet to play in a basic way, but from experience, a mud
client simply offers a lot more features and customizability to make your
gaming easier and better. Of course, if you don't play on a mud, this is
all probably like a different language to you.
Take Care

Stupid question, but what is a mud program. I understand its a client, but
have't heard of a client referred to in thisway, but maybe I've been asleep
again.
tnx
