For those who may not know what to do in this situation, I have found
that hitting the escape key and then pressing the D key anew will
clear up the problem.

(speak Word) VO will actually read the item to you even though its
not doing it in the normal fashion that you're used to using when
navigating the dock. I believe that VO keys+a (Read All) will also
