The addresses were in text format separated by commas so it should all work.

To import addresses you have in a file into address book, all you need to
do is to open the file menu (vo-m arrow over to file) then select import
submenu. There's several options there, one of them is text file.
Selecting that should do the trick for you. Don't know what format your
email program exported them into, but it should be some form of text, or
perhaps coma delimited. Give it a try and let us know how/if it works.
