Hi Larry,

The only way that worked for me was to bring up the address book on the windows box, copy all to the clip board. Paste them into a file where they become cards and then import that file. It seems no matter what I did, this was the only method which worked. Things may have improved since then since it was many months ago that I imported my address book.

I too have questions about the address book. I've got something along the lines of 100 contacts in my address book on the old PC in Outlook Express. I exported them in text file format and the file is on my Mac but how do I move these in to my email and address book on the Mac? Any help is much appreciated.

Subject: address book and mail

Hello all,

I was wondering if the contacts in Mail are in the Address Book. I haven't really quite figured out the Address Book app yet so am working with it, but I was under the impression that Mail contacts end up in there. I have contacts in Mail I'd like to remove and see no means to do so in Mail itself. Also, I was giving real consideration to getting a dot Mac account, but one of the concerns I have is having two accounts in Mail. I tried this once, but it seem to have some real problems with sending mail and the like. If anyone is in fact using lets say their ISP's mail and a dot Mac account and can comment on how easy it was to work with mail in this way, I'd appreciate it. . Also, I guess the list was down for a bit, but I was wondering if anyone had tried my sleep experiment and if so what their results were. I'd like to get back to Apple on this. I will say that I did end up doing an archive install and that turned out to be a good thing. I guess using target disk mode to move stuff from one machine to another works generally ok, but it can have some strange side effects as well.

tnx

Scott
