No Buddy. You're getting the normal Katie player behavior. I've
already made my thoughts on this known, and Joe assures me the new
version will behave better.
Basically what you have is katie player, and nothing vo can see, so
it appears like nothing is on the screen. When you start it, give it
a minute or so to finish it's thing. Then you can press tab to move
around the fields of the registration screen. You'll have the same
problem once you begin using it to read books. Wait a while, then
use the l (or command-l) depending on whether you're loading from cd
or hd.
It's not very intuitive for vo users, since we expect things to work
in a certain way, and unfortunately, katie player was written before
vo existed, so it doesn't follow this model, and that confuses most
folks, and tricks them into thinking it isn't working, when in fact,
in most cases it is working just fine.
I've also noticed that if you try doing anything with vo before katie
is ready, you do get the behavior you describe. Be patient, then
begin tabbing, it should work better then.
